How to send a Telegram gift: a step-by-step guide

What are Telegram Gifts?

Telegram Gifts are digital presents priced in Stars. They show on the recipient’s profile or can be converted back into Stars. Some are limited or collectible. A gift fits a birthday, a holiday or a simple thank-you.

Two routes — which one suits you

The difference is in the payment: inside Telegram a gift is bought with Stars from your balance, so the Stars have to be purchased first. In the bot the gift itself is bought in so‘m — there is no intermediate step.

Route 1: sending from inside the Telegram app

  • A wrong username — the gift travels by username alone. Copy it from the profile; never type it.
  • Not enough balance — when sending inside Telegram, check the Stars balance first.
  • Anonymity cannot be changed later — decide on anonymity or a note before paying.
  • Losing the order ID — that is what support needs if anything goes wrong.
